Hardware Lead

At TracInnovations we develop and produce a motion tracking system to improve the quality of magnetic resonance scanning images and patient comfort.

Your role                                                   

As a Hardware Lead, you will play a pivotal role in leading a versatile team of engineers and drive the development of our cutting-edge motion tracking device. You will be involved in all aspects of the development life cycle, from initial planning and design to implementation and production hand-over, ensuring the delivery of a high-quality product. We’re seeking a candidate who is not only creative and innovative but also possesses a practical flair for designing new components that support the expansion of our product line, driving forward our advancement in the field.

Key Responsibilities

Team Leadership: Manage and mentor a team of talented engineers, including optical, mechanical, and electrical engineers. Facilitate the daily project activities in collaboration with our project managers and ensure good team efficiency.

Medical Device Development: Oversee all phases of the design controls, including requirements gathering, implementation, verification testing, and deployment. Responsible for the regulatory documentation of our medical device hardware. In collaboration with our QA team, ensure compliance with FDA and ISO standards by documenting design controls, risk management processes, and validation protocols. Together with the team ensure proper hand-over to our production team.

Communication and Collaboration: Serve as a liaison between the development team and both internal and external stakeholders. You will be referring to the CTO while also working alongside our Software Lead and Product Manager to ensure alignment on our product roadmap and strategic objectives.

Preferred Qualifications

  • MSc in a relevant engineering discipline or similar.
  • Familiarity with device development in MRI, optics, or ultrasound would be advantageous.
  • Good understanding of medical device development, preferably IEC 60601 and ISO 14971.
  • Proven experience managing and leading development teams.
  • Familiarity with medical device quality management systems is desirable, ISO 13485.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to effectively collaborate with diverse teams and stakeholders.

About The Company

TracInnovations is an international med-tech company with headquarters in Denmark and offices in US and UK, founded at Technical University of Denmark in 2015. We develop and produce a unique motion tracking system for MRI scanners to register patient motion during scanning and to correct the final 3D scan images. Our tracking system reduces the need for patient sedation, especially for children, lowers the need for scanning repetitions, and therefore improves the patient comfort and lowers the scan cost.

The company is growing to accelerate the development and to scale up the production. Our headquarters are in Ballerup, DK, where we have both development and production facilities.
